Meet the Creator

   

   Cosmic Flame is solely owned and operated by Mariah. Mariah describes herself as "a lover, a creator, a fighter". She is a queer Afro-Taino actress, community organizer, and handcrafter. Her guiding principles are giving thanks to those that came before her, while also prioritizing community building & connection.

   

  Being born and raised in East Harlem and having Puerto Rican heritage, Mariah understands the importance of embracing our ancestry and paying homage to those who persisted so we can exist today. Our communities deserve to celebrate ourselves and where we come from. Our communities deserve to have access to unity, resources, and wellness.

     

   These principles are what inspired her to start 'Cosmic Flame' in 2020, at a time where we needed community more than ever. Through her business, Mariah has been able to connect with community by attending events, contributing to mutual-aids, and providing people with quality handcrafted spiritual candles. 

     

   She is beyond grateful for being able to build community through the things she loves to do and plans to continue her work.
